Kutch

An Ancient Civilisation Land – Transforming Into Global Maritime & Industrial Hub

Kutch
Jewel of Gujarat

Mujo Kuchdo Bare Maass – As the local saying goes, Kutch is favourable all year round.

The advantage is because of the perfect location of placing of this virtual island like land.

Kutch is like full package of all the resources that are needed for any business. In this vast land many sectors have flourished well. Kutch had developed upto a great extent after the great fall due to earthquake yet it can develop further as there are still plenty of resources for expanding certain untapped areas of businesses.

Mission

To promote Kutch as Favourable Investment Destination to become Global Maritime and Industrial Hub by 2030

While global supply-chain and consumption have been widely disrupted amid pandemic situation, we believe Kutch represents unique opportunity with largest coastal area, vast arable and industrial land (per capita, highest in India), large mineral deposits, world-class infrastructure connecting both global markets and Indian hinterlands, and skilled manpower.

PM Modi’s work after the 2001 kutch earthquake is a pointer to his vision for post-COVID India.

The earthquake was most devastating in terms of its magnitude and intensity. It posed enormous challenges because of its magnitude and geographical spread for rescue, relief and rehabilitation. Yet, Modi-lead BJP government faced the challenge with courage and conviction. What is remarkable is that a comprehensive rehabilitation and reconstruction programme was put in place at the earliest. The spectacular achievement in respect of reconstruction has no parallel anywhere in India. The transformation of the Kutch region after that devastating earthquake would have been very difficult without Modi at the helm.

BJP veterans from Gujarat say that in his formative years Modi used to travel extensively in Kutch and made it a point to be there on Diwali a few times. He knew that people in the region were very hardworking and created a great deal of wealth, but the city landscapes didn’t reflect that. His idea was to bring people out of panic and helplessness and get them to work with able assistance from the state. In the next few years, he worked with a focused plan and changed the face of the Kutch region. Government offices, hospitals and schools looked like the best of corporate and private sector structures. The infamous white (salt) desert of Rann was turned into a tourist spot, while B-big made everyone say ‘Kutch Nahi Dekha to Kuchh nahi Dekha’, it was the Modi-led government that made it all happen.

‘For every gain there is a hidden gain’ holds true for Kutch. The destructive earthquake in 2001 almost ruined its entire economy. With the combined efforts of people and the government led Kutch to become a leading economy giant. In the span of 19 years it has recovered much more than it was before the disaster happened.
